THE ESTABLISHMENT
Whetstone’s Barber Salon focuses on the classical and modern techniques in creating a haircut that is proportionate and styled to the gentleman’s liking in an environment that is both relaxed and composed. Experience of the process is a key factor in the overall service. Our main services are hair-cutting, styling, traditional hot shaves, and facials.
THE MAN
Yair V. “Whetstone” is a third generation barber. Yair is a hands on owner who not only enjoys the craft and art of barbering but thrives on helping his clients look and feel their best. In this day and age of online fulfillment a haircut is the last bastion to still be relevant.
THE CUT
Starts with the consultation making sure barber and client are on the same page. Techniques used will vary depending on end result goals and can employ razor cut sculpting, shear work blending, and blow dry styling. All cuts are concluded with a straight razor clean up of the nape.
THE SHAVE
As part of the shevet de face barber tradition, a two phase hot towel process shaving with the grain and a second pass across the grain, fallowed by a cold towel to close and tone the skin. A number of timeless products are used which will invoke the past memories of a tradition almost lost.
